I Introduction to Medical School
The University Hospital of Lausanne is one of the five major university hospitals in Switzerland, as famous as Geneva, Bern, Basel and Zurich. CHUV has 16 clinical and medical technology departments and numerous service projects, and is famous for its academic achievements in medical care, research and teaching.
Thanks to the cooperation with the Department of Biology and Medicine of the University of Lausanne and the Federal Institute of Technology (EPFL) of Lausanne, Switzerland, CHUV is also a famous medical education and research center. Together, these institutions form a huge campus in the Lake Geneva area.
In the spring of 2021, about 11800 students from Swiss universities and professional colleges surveyed by Universum ranked CHUV first in the classification of 70 companies in the health field. Health professionals surveyed by Universum also rated CHUV as the most attractive employer in Switzerland in this field.
CHUV is a top employer in Canton of Vaud and a major training center: it offers a variety of research and innovation possibilities, as well as working conditions aimed at promoting work life balance.
In the past few years, the hospital has taken some key measures in this direction, including work sharing, remote work, part-time work and gradual resumption of work after maternity leave. In terms of management culture, CHUV also highlights benevolent leadership through the intermediary of MicroMBA courses for managers and future managers.
With a top consulting team with the highest international status, CHUV provides the most advanced general and specialized medical services. The hospital provides a wide range of health services, covering a wide range of professional fields: from physical diseases to mental diseases, internal medicine and surgery, serving outpatient and inpatient patients.
